‘How you can spend your Personal Budget’ consultation

by kb205 - July 15, 2010 – 12:24 pm

A Personal Budget is the money allocated to people who are eligible for social care funding to meet their personal goals or outcomes identified in their support plan.

A workshop was held at Nottinghamshire County Council with service users, carers, staff, and members to discuss the implications of spending a Personal Budget and agreeing the proposed principles.

Feedback from the event showed the majority of people who attended supported the proposed principles.

We want to find out what you think of the proposed principles on how people in Nottinghamshire can spend their Personal Budget.

The following principles were proposed for how people can spend their Personal Budget in Nottinghamshire:

  • legal,
  • sustainable, affordable and
  • must meet the outcomes identified in their support plan.
 We would like to know:

·        Do you agree with the proposed principles?

·        Is there anything you would like to add or change about the proposed principles?

·        Do you think you would be able to work with these principles in the support planning process?

·        Any general comments

Please either comment on the blog or contact Michelle Truman Graduate Management Trainee by e-mail michelle.truman@nottscc.gov.uk or by phone 01159 774417. The closing date for comments to be submitted is Friday 30th July 2010.

I would like to thank you for taking your time to share your views.

Support With Confidence is coming soon..

by kb205 - February 4, 2010 – 11:21 am

A new online directory called ‘Support With Confidence’ is being developed by Nottinghamshire County Council. Its aim is to give local service users easy access to a wide range of service providers. As well as providing help with personal care such as getting washed and dressed it is intended that people registering on the scheme will provide help in other areas such as taking service users out for social trips to the cinema or to sporting events.

Service providers will all be vetted by the authority before being allowed to feature on the website and training will be provided to ensure a high standard of service provision.

Adult Social Care & Health are keen to find out your views on this project in particular:

What services would you like the scheme to provide?

What areas of care provision, if any, do you feel the training should cover?

Please leave your comments and any other general feedback on this new and exciting project below or contact Pauline Hutchinson, Acting Project Manager by email pauline.hutchinson@nottscc.gov.uk or phone 0115 9773 878.

Self Directed Support Assessment

by Rebecca - June 9, 2009 – 10:11 am

We recently asked for ideas about what to call the form that services users, along with a member of Nottinghamshire County Council staff, complete as part of getting a Personal Budget (see the post from April 24th, 2009).

The feedback we got gave us a clear winner, and the form will be called a “Self Directed Support Assessment”.

Thank you to everyone who put forward their thoughts and suggestions.

Self Directed Support Assessment Questionnaire

by Rebecca - April 24, 2009 – 1:17 pm

The first stage in getting a Personal Budget is an assessment. During the consultation and trial period we have called this a Self Assessment Questionnaire or “SAQ”.

In Nottinghamshire the questionnaire is filled in by the service user and a member of staff from Nottinghamshire County Council. So, we need a new title for the form.

Below is a list of the suggested titles - it would be helpful if you could comment on these and let us know what your top 3 choices would be. If you have any alternative suggestions, then please let us know.

We will need responses by 15th May 2009.

Suggested titles

  • Resource Allocation Assessment
  • Resource Allocation Questionnaire
  • Joint Assessment Questionnaire
  • Quality of Life Assessment
  • Supported Assessment Questionnaire
  • Co-Produced Assessment Questionnaire
  • My Lifestyle Assessment
  • Supporting My Needs Assessment
  • Self Directed Support Assessment
  • Assessment Questionnaire
  • Person Centred Assessment
  • Personal Budget Questionnaire

Thank you for your time and comments.
